I'm a landscape architect so it might make this question somewhat legitimate.
What is your favorite flower, shrub, or tree? I hope it is something that will
grow in my climate, because I would like to plant something in my garden on your
behalf.
That's sweet! I grow a lot of cacti myself (because they are the easiest for me.) If you do plant
something on my behalf, make sure it has bright, colorful flowers. Name it April and send me
a pic when it blooms!
What's your birthday?
January 29th, 1979.
Do you have a favorite snack food?
Funny, I just so happen to be eating a bowl of pistachios right now. I really like them.
I also like dried fruit and those wasabi coated green peas.
I can't find any nude photos of you on the web. Do you have any out there?
Not that I know of:) I've never been nude for any magazines or movies.
What kind of car do you drive?
I drive a black Range Rover Supercharge. You can actually see a video of it on that EXTRA TV clip about my book, "Behind The Briefcase." (Before that, I drove a black BMW X5. Before that, I drove a white Chevy Blazer. And before that, I drove a 1993 white Chevy Cavalier convertible with a pink and teal Z24 painted on the side (That was my very first car).
Will I ever be able to meet you in real life?
I certainly hope so! I will be doing a lot of traveling in the next month with my book PR tour. I will post
the cities and dates when I get them. Hopefully one will be near you. I'd love to meet you!
Do you like to read?
I love to read. As a child, I read a lot of Nancy Drew books. In high school, I read and memorized quite a bit of poetry. (Well, quite a bit of Edgar Allen Poe really:) Annabel Lee, The Raven, The City in the Sea, Dream Within a Dream...) Since moving to LA, I haven't read much of anything except scripts and nonfiction. However, lately, I've been reading short stories. (Last night, I read, "The Bound Man," by Ilse Aichinger.) I greatly admire gifted authors. I definitely think that there is a technical aspect to writing which is a skill that can be learned and can be crafted. But a great author is defined by neither skill nor craft. He may have read the rule book, but instinct is his guide. I'm not sure that instinct can ever be fully understood. Instinct is simply a gift. You are born with instinct. No amount of education, imitation, or envy will ever change your instinct.
I'm involved in a charity silent auction later this year? Who do I talk to about
getting some signed merchandise for the event?
Thanks for thinking of me. I'd love to be of help. Please contact my manager at hartmanagement@mac.com, and he can work out the details.
Have you ever had a song written for you or about you? I imagine with all of the talents that you possess that it is possible that you might have written a song or two yourself. You seem to be full of surprises. I'm just curious.
Yes, I had a song written for me once called, "Beautiful April." It was a long time ago. I
actually have written quite a few songs myself. But, I've never done anything with them yet.
What is one aspect of being where you are today, compared to before your started your way into such success?
When I first moved to LA, I really had nothing but a dream. I ate most of my meals from the 99 cent value menu at Wendy's in Hollywood. It took some time, but now I'm steadily doing the kinds of work that I want to do. It feels good knowing that I've built something out of nothing. And if I can do it, anyone can do it.
I created a photo collage for you. How can I email the attachment to you?
Thanks! That's very kind of you. You can email it to me directly at april@aprilscott.com.
Congrats on making FHM's 2008 list of the 100 sexiest women of the world! Why are you #92, you should be in the top ten at least!
Thanks so much! I'm delighted to be included in FHM's list along with so many amazing women.
I was watching TV the other night here in Australia and I swear that I saw you on a show called, The Jamie Kennedy Experiment with Freddie Prince Jr. in a skit called Bliss? Was that you? I kept thinking how gracious and down to earth you seemed for such a beautiful woman! You seemed like such a good sport. Have you ever been to Australia?
Yeah, that was me! It was me when I first moved to LA about five years ago. I had only been living
here for two weeks when I got set up on that show. Pretty funny isn't it! That God I refused to sign
over my soul for an acting career huh? No, I have never visited Australia, but I would certainly love
too! It seems like a wonderful place!
Would you prefer to own your own pair of flying rocket boots or a flying umbrella (Mary Poppins style)?
Definitely, the rocket boots. If I was flying around like that, I would want to have both of my hands free.
How tall are you?
I'm 5'6 1/2"
How much do you weigh?
110 lbs.
What is your shoe size?
I wear a size 7.
If you could change one thing about yourself (but nothing
physical), what would it be?
I would have more confidence when I meet people. Sometimes,
I get quiet and shy when I get around new people or when I’m
around big groups. I lose the confidence to say the things that I
want to say. It doesn’t always happen to me, but on occasion it
does. If I could change that I would.
What do you think is your best physical feature?
I don’t know that I particuarly have a best feature. I personally
like my eyes, because they are pretty big and expressive. (Although
I have always wished that they weren’t brown. I always
wanted blue or green. But I guess you always want the opposite
of what you have!)
You seem pretty comfortable posing in swimsuits and lingerie;
would you ever consider posing for Playboy Magazine?
You know, I am pretty comfortable posing in lingerie and swimwear.
But that’s totally different than being completely nude! If
Playboy called me today, I might consider it, but I can’t say that
I would do it. Maybe I’m too old fashioned or conservative, but
I just don’t personally feel right about doing that magazine.
What accomplishment are you most proud of in your life?
That’s a toss up. I have to say that having the opportunity to play
Daisy Duke in a film was a big treat for me. I grew up watching
the Television series, and I was such a big fan of Catherine Bach
(the original Daisy Duke). I was really proud to be a part of the
film. But also I graduated Valedictorian of my college class of
over 400 students, and I’m really proud of that too. It’s not that
I was super smart or even disciplined; it was a lot of staying up
all night long cramming!!!
You played Daisy Duke in the most recent Dukes of Hazzard
film. You were the third Daisy. (The first played by Catherine
Bach and the second by Jessica Simpson.) What was it like to
step into those Daisy Dukes, and what did you do to prepare
for the role?
I was so excited when I found out that I was hired for the film.
My family and I were big fans of the TV series. I grew up playing
with The Dukes of Hazzard toy cars. I never dreamed that I
would one day have an opportunity to play a role like that.
For, The Dukes of Hazzard: The Beginning, I was portraying
Daisy at age 18, and I really wanted to stay true to the
